InsideHook called it the Rimowa of dopp kits, and the comparison lands. Carl Friedrik, the London label known for its aluminum carry-on, built its new washbag around a simple idea: the average dopp kit holds about a liter, and that is not enough. The large version swallows 3.5 liters inside a full-grain bovine leather exterior with vachetta detailing and a recycled polyester lining, at 5.5 by 9.8 by 4.3 inches and just 0.8 pounds. Instead of a maze of tiny pockets you will never use, the interior is one big magnetic-closure cavity with two exterior window pockets for quick-grab items, plus a double zipper and an exterior loop for hanging it on arrival.
It comes in Chocolate and Black. At $290 it is firmly a step-up purchase, the kind of thing you buy when you are done replacing the $30 nylon pouch every two years.
