Bud Light just released the ultimate man cave accessory. The Bud-E Fridge ($299 USD) is a first-of-its-kind smart beer fridge developed by Bud Light, Buzz Connect, and Linq IQ. Not only will it keep track of how many Bud Lights you have in the fridge, it will also let you know how long until they’re at the perfect temperature for drinking.
This smart fridge even works remotely thanks to the Bud-E smartphone app (available on iOS and Android devices) and the fridge’s ability to connect via Wi-Fi. From the app you can track your Bud Light stock level, find a store near you to stock up, set a cold countdown timer to indicate when the Bud Light will reach the optimal drinking temperature, and program in your favorite NFL team.
Bud Light is the official beer sponsor for the NFL, so naturally they would add a kick-ass football element to it. When games are approaching, the Bud-E Fridge will immediately let you know if your game day supply needs Bud Light replenishing.
“We are constantly looking for innovative ways to enhance the consumer’s experience and the Bud-E Fridge represents an unprecedented advance,” said Lucas Herscovici, Vice President of Connections at Anheuser-Busch. “With the Bud-E Fridge, we’ve created something that shows how we continue to push the boundaries in technology and innovation, particularly in the connected home of the future, and provide beer drinkers with new level of convenience to better enjoy Bud Light with their friends.”
Of course the Bud-E Fridge will warn you of low Bud Light levels via the Bud-E app even if a game isn’t coming up, or you just so happen not not care about football. To each his own.
