School is almost back in session, my friends, and with the help of eBay and their 1.1 billion listings, we’re here to help you get ready for it. Below you will find my personal back to college survival kit checklist, featuring everything from new computers to fresh new sheets. Because we know you probably haven’t washed your bedding since the first day of school. Don’t worry, we won’t tell mom.

6 Back to College Items to Add to Your Checklist

Apple Macbook Pro

1. A New Computer

Most curriculums now require you to have a laptop or tablet for you to be able to take notes and do research during class. Perhaps this year it’s time for an upgrade.

When shopping for a new laptop, I’m looking for portability first, followed by design and clarity. This is why the Apple MacBook Pro has been a favorite of mine for so long.

If perhaps the MacBook Pro is a bit too pricey for you (which I completely understand), I would recommend taking a look at something new from Dell and HP.  All of which I’ve owned in the past and would highly recommend.

Mini Fridge

2. Mini Fridge

I never lived the so-call dorm life, so I have no idea what it might be like to share a bathroom or a kitchen with a handful of others. Call me spoiled, but the last thing I would want is to have to share a fridge with a group of other guys. This is why I added a new mini fridge to the checklist.

This particular mini fridge has the added bonus of doubling as a white board. Great way to leave notes for your roomies to not touch your leftover pizza.

Chezmoi Collection - Bed in a bag

3. Fresh Bedding

There’s nothing quite like a fresh pair of sheets. And since mom isn’t there to do your laundry anymore, perhaps it’s time to replace last semester’s set. The Chezmoi Collection is an affordable bed-in-a-bag pack that features an 8 piece black pleated comforter and sheet set.

Eureka Handheld Cleaner

4. Handheld Cleaner

Assuming you might be living in tight quarters, I recommend the Eureka EasyClean Corded Hand-Held Vacuum to help keep your room clean. Having your room free of dirt and fallen crumbs will help keep away any unwanted pests, while making an environment for your guests to be comfortable in. Best of all, it’s small enough to stow under your bed or in your closet. Just be sure to keep it handy for those rowdy nights with friends.

Cuisinart Products

5. A Good Coffee Maker

I can’t go a day without a cup of coffee. In fact, I’m just now finishing my 4th cup today. This habit can become expensive, and if you’re the average college student, every dollar counts. My recommendation is to pickup a quality coffee machine, like something from Cuisinart. I’ve saved hundreds of dollars per year owning mine, and haven’t missed those expensive cups I use to get at the coffee shop.

Wireless Noise Cancelling Blue Satellite Headphones

6. Wireless Headphones

One way I like to stay focused is by putting headphones on and drowning out the rest of the world. It’s also a great way to indicate to those around you that you’re busy, so you won’t be bothered. My favorite pair of headphones right now are the Blue Satellite Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones. Available in black or white.
