Rolex’s Yacht-Master II was always the strangest watch in the catalog: a 44mm regatta chronograph built to time race starts, with a programmable countdown that almost nobody actually used for sailing. The new generation keeps the niche purpose but cleans up the interface. Gone is the old Ring Command bezel, replaced by a pusher-driven setup that makes programming the countdown faster and less fussy. The updated automatic movement runs a 72-hour power reserve, and the dial has been sharpened for better at-a-glance legibility. Case size holds at 44mm, so it still wears like a statement piece, but the visual cleanup makes it feel less like a one-trick gadget and more like a watch you’d actually wear off the water. Available in Oystersteel or 18k yellow gold.
