Opinion: Top 5 Women Led NFT Projects
The majority of projects driven by blockchain are driven by men. The new blockchain use-case of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) is no different. This is not necessarily a problem, but it does present an issue for many women who want to get involved in blockchain or NFTs specifically. Many groups, including Global Women in Blockchain, have formed to help show the world that women are interested in blockchain technology and just as capable of leading projects. The following project leaders are showing precisely that by leading NFT projects!
*Note: this list is not exclusive to women but focused on women-led NFT related businesses/projects.
Women-Led NFT Projects
1. Sad Girls Bar
Sad Girls Bar was the first women-led NFT project I added to my portfolio in 2021. The talented artist behind the PFP project is Glam Beckett, a self-proclaimed ‘sensitive dark artist.’ I’m absolutely obsessed with her work and love the spin-off projects that have resulted from the Sad Girls Bar Universe: Skeletongue & The Sad Cats.
Current stats:
- 4.7k owners
- 10k Sad Girls Bar NFTs
- .12 ETH floor price
2. Crypto Chicks
NFT artist Ms Polly is the genius behind the highly colorful and attractive Crypto Chicks. This was the second women-led NFT project I added to my portfolio, but the first project I minted. Six to be exact. I don’t think I would ever rock a women PFP, though it would be tempting because they’re all straight fire.
Current stats:
- 3.8k owners
- 10k Crypto Chicks NFTs
- .24 ETH floor price
3. World of Women
Undoubtedly the most popular women-led NFT project to date is World of Women by Yam Karkai. You might even call it a blue-chip NFT, for the simple fact that it holds a high value that will likely continue to grow as crypto and NFTs go mainstream. Think Bored Ape Yacht Club status.
Current stats:
- 5k owners
- 10k Crypto Chicks NFTs
- 8.2 ETH floor price
4. Boss Beauties
On a mission to spread positivity and inspiration to women far and wide, the Boss Beauties collection was born. Over the past 10 years, its founders have been educating and empowering the next generation of Women and Girls. Their next step was bringing crypto and NFTs to a highly unrepresentative corner, which is women in crypto.
Current stats:
- 5k owners
- 10k Crypto Chicks NFTs
- 1.123 ETH floor price
5. Women Rise
Women Rise is a collection of 10,000 randomly generated and unique NFT art pieces created by the internationally acclaimed visual artist Maliha Abidi. The collection represents women from around the world and the traits go beyond the diversity of just skin colors. Women activists, artists, scientists, coders and many others rising to make the world a better place!

Full disclosure: I do own a few of these projects and in no way receive compensation for promoting them. This article is not financial advice.
