Last week I hosted a gaming party consisting five of my closest friends and the Alienware Steam Machine console. We had such a great time playing games and hanging out that it inspired me to create an Alienware Steam Machine buyer’s guide, a list of the console, accessories, games and everything else you would need to throw a party similar to mine.

As an added bonus, Alienware was kind enough to throw in a Valve Games Key ($200+ value) that unlocks every title from past, present, and future. Giveaway details can be found at the end of the buyer’s guide.
1. The Alienware Steam Machine ($450+ USD)
In case you didn’t already know, Steam Machine is Alienware’s latest console made to change the way you game. Alienware and Valve teamed up to create a custom-build designed to run SteamOS to perfection. Everything you know and love about Steam brought into a new environment; your living room.
2. Xbox 360 Controller ($50+ USD)
You read that right, a Xbox 360 controller. Gaming is always fun with more people, so to make sure you have extra controllers for your friends, Alienware has made the Steam Machine compatible with Xbox 360 controllers. I’m certain most already have one or two of these laying around from a few years ago. If not, pickup how many you think you might need to make the party more fun.
Of course you can also buy additional Steam Controllers ($50) too.
3. Steam Account (FREE)
It should come at no surprise that a Steam account would be necessary to use the Steam Machine. Don’t fret if you don’t have one, you can signup in just a few minutes here: https://store.steampowered.com/join
4. Steam Game Must-Haves
Outside of the entire Valve collection, which has too many awesome games to mention, Steam has thousands of other awesome titles you can purchase. Here are 5 games I consider must-haves!
- Fallout 4 ($60)
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege ($60)
- Grand Theft Auto V ($36)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops III ($50)
- Just Cause 3 ($60)
