Canon Dual Fisheye 3D VR Camera Lens

Mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses are ideal for video production. They’ve been lousy solutions for VR content creation up until now. With the RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye lens, Canon hopes to change that. It works with Canon‘s EOS R5 camera’s special software to shoot stereoscopic 3D 180° VR imagery with a single picture sensor. It’s small enough to focus on objects as near as 8 inches away, and it’ll come with an EOS VR Plug-In for Adobe Premiere Pro to easily transition to off-device editing.

With all the news about NFTs and the metaverse, you can be sure we will begin seeing more VR content being produced. This is only the beginning and I’m glad Canon is starting to lead the charge for both consumers and prosumers.

You can expect the shipping of this new 3D VR lens this December.
