Around Battlefield 1’s release, Razer sent me their Kraken Pro V2 Headset to review, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Whenever I pickup a new first-person shooter, especially multiplayer-based, it’s guaranteed that I’ll be clocking hundreds of hours of play. It can take a toll on your body, so having comfortable gear is vital for those lengthy gaming sessions.

Out of all the gaming headsets I’ve reviewed, the Kraken has to be my favorite. Here’s why:

The first major takeaway is its weight. Weighing less than a pound (approximately 0.71 lbs), you forget you’re even wearing a headset. This will make those long nights gaming easy on your neck.

Additionally, Razer designed the Kraken Pro V2 with all ears and head types in mind. Gamers with glasses will love the special inmold channels freeing their head from strain, as well as the option of interchangeable circular or oval shaped ear cushions.

Microphone

The Razer Kraken Pro V2 comes equipped with a fully-retractable unidirectional microphone and an in-line remote control for easy volume controls and absolute clarity. Moreover, the mic bends as you like, so it’s easy to keep your fellow gamers connected with you with crystal clear communication.

Cross-Platform Compatibility

PC, Mac, Xbox One, PS4 or mobile devices; whatever you might have, the Razer Kraken Pro V2 is compatible with any device that has a 3.5 mm audio jack. I love that I can simply unplug it from one system to the next without any adapters or additional software needed to connect.

Would I Buy?

Absolutely. In fact, I just bought two headsets for my Battlefield 1 buddies. The Razer Kraken Pro V2 is by far the greatest gaming headset I’ve owned to-date, and at such a great value, too. Available in black, green, and white.
