Leica Taps Rolf Sachs for Special Edition Camera

Leica’s newest special edition camera, dubbed the “Grip,” was designed by artist and photographer Rolf Sachs. Its moniker comes from the unique red rubber grip that wraps the beloved M-P Typ 240 Leica body. In addition, the camera features numerous other touches worth mentioning, like Sachs’ name decorated on the back, black and crimson engravings on the buttons, and a special edition number located on the included 35mm Summilux-M ASPH lens.

Only 79 units will be produced and sold in Leica stores across the globe, with a burly price to go with it. Each M-P will be sold for $14,950 USD. Those interested can preorder their “Grip” today with an official release starting October 31.
