You may remember last year when Hendo created a working hoverboard prototype that had Back to the Future fans in a tizzy. Unfortunately, all of the excitement for the Kickstarter project may soon fizzle out as Lexus just revealed their own hoverboard in the latest installment of their “Amazing in Motion” video series. Though the video is clearly a teaser, since we don’t actually see it in action, the idea is there and it’s real. Lexus’ website states that “the Lexus Hoverboard uses magnetic levitation to achieve amazing frictionless movement. Liquid nitrogen cooled superconductors and permanent magnets combine to allow Lexus to creat the impossible.” The Lexus Hoverboard is made of a mix of natural bamboo and other materials used to make Lexus cars, and it features the shape of Lexus’ signature spindle grille.
