Costa Cruises Is Putting 100 Pastas on the Menu

Costa Cruises is spotlighting 100+ pasta dishes across its fleet for World Pasta Day, from seafood pastas to 15 lasagna variations.

This one caught my eye. For World Pasta Day on Oct. 25, Costa Cruises is spotlighting more than 100 pasta preparations across its eight ships, from spaghettone with green pea carbonara and mortadella to pumpkin tortelli with shrimp ragout. On a seven-day sailing, guests get nearly 80 chances to try a different pasta, which works out to more than 11 a day if you are counting. At least 32 of the dishes lean on seafood, 15 are lasagna variations, and gluten-free pasta is available daily. Costa is the Genoa-based, Italian-flag line in the Carnival group, so pasta is not a theme for them, it is the identity. The Sardinian entry on the list, gnocchetti Sardi with sausage sauce, broccoli and chili, is the one I would order first. If you sail Costa, come hungry.
