There are very few people who don’t love going to the beach, and there are many people who will often choose a beach holiday over every other type of holiday. However when you want to take it to the next level, you need to visit one of the best beaches.

While there are hundreds of beautiful beaches in the world, there are a few that stand out as some of the best and the ones you have to visit at least once.

Copacabana

Arguably the best beach in the world, Copacabana in Brazil has it all. Beautiful water, soft sand, incredible weather for most of the year, and when the weather is just right, there is usually a party going on.

Pack your instant camera to get a few snaps, but also be prepared to join in on a football game with locals, or get out your flippers and snorkel and explore what the water has to offer.

Bondi Beach

Another world-famous spot is Bondi Beach. It has played host to several events for the Summer Olympics, but it is mostly known as the place to be for a day of fun in the sun while you are in Sydney.

Not only does it have the perfect waves for both surfing and swimming, but the sand is amazing; there are several world-class restaurants along the boardwalk, and it offers some of the best views in all of Australia.

Santa Monica Beach

While the US coast is another area packed with spectacular beaches, very few are as incredible as Santa Monica Beach. Featured in several movies and TV shows across the years, the beach has everything you could possibly need.

This is the place to be if you want to get that California feeling, as well as enjoy the famous Santa Monica pier, a delicious meal, and, if you are patient, a breathtaking sunset.

South Beach

If Santa Monica is where you go to relax and chill out for the day, then South Beach is where you go if you want to let loose. Located in the buzzing metropolis that is Miami, South Beach is known for its spectacular sand and surf during the day, and unforgettable parties at night.

The Hispanic influence can be seen everywhere, especially when it is time for a drink or something to eat. South Beach is a must for anyone visiting Florida.

Waikiki

You can’t talk about beaches in the United States without talking about arguably the best one of them all. Waikiki is not only one of the most beautiful islands in the world, but Waikiki Beach is simply astounding.

Flanked by mountains and jungle, with the city to its rear, Waikiki Beach is the epitome of luxury and relaxation. All of your wants and needs can be met here, and even if you are only there for a short walk, you will quickly realise why so many people visit this beach every year.

Maya Bay

While you may not have heard the name Maya Bay before, you have definitely seen this very famous beach. Featured in a James Bond film, Maya Beach in Thailand is easly one of the best sights in all of South-East Asia.

Crystal-clear water and white sand are complimented by towering rock outcrops that can be found all along the coast. Don’t spend all of your time either; you can take a boat ride to explore the outcrops and discover what this glorious coast has to offer.

The Baths

It is impossible not to find a beautiful spot at The Baths. Found on the British Virgin Islands, The Baths features many giant granite boulders along the beach. While simple, the beach is tranquil and one of the best places to spend a few hours during the day.

Tulum

Mexico is another country packed with many amazing beaches, but Tulum is regarded as the best. While Tulum has the typical sandy beaches and blue, warm water, it has a few additional features that not many other beaches have.

It was an important religious and trading centre for many years, and visitors can find the remains of several buildings that are thought to have been built between the 11th and 16th centuries.

Spiaggia Grande

Considering the Amalfi Coast is already one of the most beautiful areas on the planet, it is no surprise that it has world-famous beaches. Spiaggia Grande beach, called Positano, is relatively small but will make you feel like a celebrity.

With the town and a mountain as a backdrop, you won’t find anything else like this in all of Europe, possibly even the world.

Camps Bay

Finally, Cape Town is already one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Southern Hemisphere, and no trip to the city is complete without a visit to Camps Bay. The beach is part of the very exclusive coastal area and has everything you need for a luxurious day out.

You can surf, swim, enjoy the views from a nearby hotel, or have a sundowner at one of the several bars and clubs along the boardwalk; Camps Bay is the place to be once Summer rolls around.
