Neos airlines

If you’re from the United States, chances are you haven’t heard of the Neos airline before. Even I haven’t heard them and I travel for a living. This will likely change starting this summer.

Neos has appointed WEILL to handle their public relations on record for the US in the wake of the airline receiving approval from the US Department of Transporation to operate scheduled passenger flights to and from New York. The twice-weekly flights out of JFK will be “Covid-Tested” and begin in the second half of June 2021, connecting New York with Milan.

“Founded in 2002, Neos boasts the youngest airline fleet in Europe, including six latest-generation Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, arguably the world’s most comfortable and advanced aircraft and we are honored to have been selected.”

– WEILL founder and CEO, Geoffrey Weill

This new and exciting entry into the US market has allowed Neos to continue expanding its portfolio, correcting the trajectory it originally started back in 2019 before the pandemic. Neos operates scheduled service with over 50 routes throughout Italy, as well as the Caribbean, Egypt, Africa, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Jordan, Mexico, Oman, the Maldives, Spain, and Thailand.

“Neos has joined the IATA Travel Pass program,” says Geoffrey Weill, which helps passengers easily upload their Covid test results and vaccination certificates via a QR code on their smartphones. This will speed up boarding and disembarkation, as well as put an ease on staff when policing passengers for their credientals. Assuming the success of this new route, Neos is planning to increase New York flights in 2022, adding additional US gateways.

This is the type of news that makes me hopeful for travel this year. Now that I’m fully vaccinated, I’m eager to get back out there and exploring the world again. If Neos or WEILL is reading this, add me to your flight list!
