In 2014, a popular article was written in the Independent, a popular British media site, asking, The Milestone: Is This Britain’s Best Hotel? The author cites the many positive Trip Advisor reviews that year, and his own personal experience. It was one of the most popular articles of that year, as most readers agreed with the author.
And now, after many more positive Trip Advisor reviews, and multiple new awards, this hotel, once an English Baronial mansion, is offering a program that offers guests a discovery experience of Kensington — the Milestone Hotel’s historic location. This is the Kensington Uncovered package for 2017, being offered through April 30.
With this experience, the Milestone team takes guests behind the scenes of this royal neighborhood, offering exclusive access and insider tours with experts – all experiences that have not been offered before.
Included are two-night stays in a Deluxe King room, a daily English breakfast, private walking tours, a private guided tour of Kensington Palace, or a tour of The Royal Albert Hall, and an afternoon tea with a champagne Sabrage demonstration.
The package is priced from approximately US$523 inclusive of VAT, based on two adults sharing a Deluxe King Room. The package can also be upgraded with a discounted Bentley transfer from London Heathrow or City Airport at an additional charge of £200 (approx. US$243) each way or one-way complimentary transfer when upgrading to a suite. Details here:

The guests will learn that the hotel was original built in 1184 as a home for an English baron. It was converted into a hotel in 1922, and is now a five-star Grade II mansion hotel, part of the Red Carnation Hotels Group. It overlooks Kensington Gardens – 270 acres worth – are full of lakes, trees, and flowers – and was also the inspiration of JMW Barrie’s Peter Pan and Neverland. In addition, Hyde Park is close by also, with The Serpentine boating lake and the Diana Princess of Wales’ Memorial Playground just beyond.
Finally, those who love royalty and history often stay at The Milestone, as Kensington Palace, the former residence of Queen Victoria and more recently Diana, Princess of Wales, is directly opposite the hotel’s front door. It is now the London residence of Prince William and Catherine, so you’ll have Royal neighbors. William’s grandmother, the Queen, also has a home nearby – Buckingham Palace is just a couple of minutes away in a taxi. Let’s GO!
