Russell’s Reserve is bringing back its 13 Year Old bourbon this spring with a commemorative label honoring Master Distiller Eddie Russell’s 45th year at Wild Turkey Distilling. Eddie started at the distillery in 1981 expecting a summer job; four decades later he’s a Hall of Fame distiller, and the brand he created to honor his father Jimmy is now marking his own milestone. This year’s batch comes in at a hefty 121.2 proof (60.6% ABV), with vanilla and brown sugar up front, cherry and citrus layered in, and a caramel-toffee finish with a touch of oak tannin. Campari Group is also releasing a short documentary on Eddie’s career, premiering at select Alamo Drafthouse theaters on June 23 before a screening of Field of Dreams. The 13 Year Old hits limited online and retail availability this month at $200 per 750ml bottle, with allocation tight enough that you’ll want to be on the Russell’s Reserve newsletter list before it drops.
