Marshall rebuilt the guts of its two best-known home speakers without touching the part people actually buy them for. The Acton IV and Stanmore IV still have the PU leather wrap, salt-and-pepper fret, and brass control panel with a real power switch, but the fourth generation adds Auracast, so multiple speakers can play in sync around the house. New tweeters and waveguides widen the stereo image, a redesigned bass port cleans up the low end, and a Dynamic Loudness setting holds detail together at apartment-friendly volume. Cables now exit the bottom, letting the cabinet sit flush against a wall. RCA and AUX inputs stick around for a turntable, and the FSC-certified MDF cabinets ship with replaceable knobs, feet, and grilles. Acton IV runs a 4-inch woofer, Stanmore IV a 5-inch. Anyone still on a III can join the multi-speaker setup through Marshall’s new $199.99 Heddon hub. Both are available now in black or cream, $299.99 and $399.99.
