Does anyone really enjoy vacuuming? Sure, I like a clean house just as much as the next guy, but not at the expense of me pushing around a vacuum cleaner trying to pickup each crumb that has fallen to the ground. This is why I was relieved when Samsung’s POWERbot Cleaning Robot Vacuum made its way to my doorstep. Finally, a robot to do my dirty work.

As a Samsung Home Appliances Ambassador I was one of the first to see the Samsung POWERbot in action when it was unveiled at IFA 2015 (Samsung AddWash too) in Berlin last year. Then again at CES 2016, where Samsung unleashed new models with upgrades. Needless to say I was excited to get my hands on one for my home office. Here’s why:

Top of the Line Robotic Suction

Unlike its robotic vacuum competitors, the VR9000 POWERbot has 20x more powerful suction, and features smart technology that allows it to map out your home and navigate it with ease. This also includes it automatically adjusting to your varying floor types, thanks to its EasyPass wheels.

Visionary Mapping™ Plus System

The POWERbot’s onboard digital camera and ten individual sensors allows for it to find the right cleaning path for your home. It does this by creating a complete map of your home, including walls, furniture and stairways; just after one full cleaning. This allows you to set it and forget it, without the worry of it stopping or getting stuck on something.

Point and Clean

Let’s say you don’t need the entire room cleaned and just need it to pickup a mess in a certain area. Using the Samsung POWERbot remote, you can use the Point Cleaning function and tell your robot cleaner exactly where to go. It’s that easy.

Cleans Any Floor Type

The POWERbot has a wide motorized brush that allows it to clean larger carpeted areas with less movement. It’s also smart enough to know the type of floor you’re on, and will automatically adjust for it, loosening up trapped dirt whether it’s on carpet or on hard floors.

The age of manual labor is coming to an end, and smart homes will become the new norm. Samsung Home Appliances is continuously improving how our homes interact with us in our daily lives through the Internet of Things.
