Men are often expected to put up and shut up when it comes to their health. In fact, when it comes to health, men can be infuriating to deal with as they don’t go to a doctor when they need one, they don’t listen to advice, and where possible they often avoid taking any kind of painkiller when they are in real pain. If you are partnered with a man, you may notice this.

But there are some moments in life where macho behavior really isn’t appreciated, at least of all by you when your health goes downhill. When it comes to your health, oh men of the world, you need to pay attention to it, and you need to appreciate that your body has limits. You might start Googling things like the average erection time or whether your manhood is the right length when you worry about your crown jewels, but are you Googling the lumps you find in your testicles? Are you performing testicular checks every month to ensure that nothing has changed? When was the last time you checked your own chest for breast cancer? If you are not paying close attention to your health, then what are you paying attention to?

If you are a man and you suffer from any of the Men’s health issues listed in this article, you need to see your doctor and leave the machismo at the door.

  • You have felt a lump. On the topic of testicular cheques, you should be getting to know your testicles at close range. Only one lump in every 25 is cancerous in the testicles, but a lump could also signal other conditions that can cause you problems in the future. It can even cause you issues with your sex life, and if there is one thing that you may know over man, it being proud of your sex life to make you feel more mail. Ensuring that you get to know your testicles with a testicular check on the 1st of every month is exactly what you should be doing if you want to be in tune with your own body. If you didn’t know this, now you do and that should shock you. As a man, it can be difficult for you to speak up when you are hurting on the inside. But mental health doesn’t just affect women or newly pregnant women. It affects men and it can manifest itself as drinking too much, irritability or even losing interest in activities that you enjoy.
  • You struggle to urinate. If you are having issues with urination, or you are going to the toilet too often, there could be a prostate condition of which you are unaware. Enlarged prostates can put pressure on your urethra and your bladder and it can stop you from being able to pee full plot a lesser known cause of struggling to urinate is cancer. Again, if you are not in tune with your body you are not going to know what’s normal and what isn’t. Being able to enjoy being intimate is so important, and an erection is a necessity for that.

  • You notice a change in one of your moles. If you have moles on your body, you should be checking them every month and documenting both what they look like, will shape them all, and what colour they are. If you know these things, you will be able to ensure that you are aware of any changes. Moles can change with the click of your fingers, and one that looks like a normal shape can be a regular overnight. Any mole changes need investigation because that could indicate skin cancer. The ABCDE of moles are asymmetrical, border, colour, diameter, enlarged. Is your mole asymmetrical? Is the border of it uneven? Is there more than one colour or has the colour changed? Does it measure more than 1/4 inch in diameter? Does it appear enlarged? any of these and you should see your doctor.
  • Your bowel habits have changed. Blood in your stools is the best known warning sign of battle cancer, and it’s usually dark and bloody while looking for it. Fresh red blood often indicates a cut or an issue, and unexplained diarrhea, constipation that isn’t normal and pain in your stomach is also something that needs investigating full stop if you are struggling to go to the bathroom then you also need to speak to your doctor about that comma because there could be issues that you are unaware of full
  • You are dealing with an ongoing cough. In the winter months costs are normal and persisted costs are more annoying than anything else. However, if you are still hacking a cough after three weeks you may be dealing with a chest infection. Persistent coughs can also be signs and symptoms of things that are far more dangerous such as heart failure, a pulmonary embolism or even lung cancer.
  • You are losing weight, but you didn’t mean to. If you have noticed weight loss and that weight loss has been quite huge over a short space of time, then you need to speak to a doctor. It doesn’t necessarily mean there is something drastically wrong, but a thyroid issue could be the cause.
