Last month, I featured The Balvenie Bar Cart by Mats Christeen. The unique piece of furniture was made in partnership with Balvenie, the Council of Fashion Designers of America Foundation, and luxury retailer Todd Snyder. This was just one of four pieces developed for the Crafted Collection – a curated series of handcrafted items incorporating the wood from barrels at The Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland.

The second piece from the collection that caught my eye are these boots made by legendary bespoke shoemaker, Raul Ojeda of Willie’s Shoe Service and Don Ville.

Raul Ojeda Balvenie Collection

These one-of-a-kind pair of men’s leather dress shoes are uniquely crafted by Raul Ojeda of LA-based Willie’s Shoe Service and Don Ville using Balvenie wood in the heel. *Men’s size 8-12 are made to order and will take around 4-6 weeks to be completed.

If you’re feeling like a high roller and are wanting the full bespoke experience, then drop $15,000 and you will get a trip of a lifetime. You will be flown to Los Angeles to meet Raul, receive an exclusive fitting for a custom pair of Balvenie-heeled, leather dress shoes and your very own Balvenie tasting experience at Raul’s studio. Of course your two-night stay in Los Angeles wouldn’t be complete without a swanky 5-star hotel to rest your head in.

“We are truly excited to be working so closely with The Balvenie and Todd Snyder on this project. It’s a wonderful synergy to partner with organizations whose values align so closely with ours. The CFDA is devoted to supporting and nurturing new and emerging design talent who are thinking out-of-the-box and handmaking their art – this collaboration does just that.”

– CFDA Vice President of Partnerships, Adam Roth
